FIS actively took part in the National PMTCT Forum.

«Accélérons l’élimination de la transmission mère-enfant et la prise en charge pédiatrique du VIH chez les enfants et adolescents », that was the theme of the National Forum on PMTCT and Children/adolescents HIV pediatric health care that just ended at the Mont Febe Hotel in Yaoundé. A National Forum placed under the auspices of the Ministry of Public Health. In his speech, Andre Mama Fouda emphasized that the health system in Cameroon has recorded enormously progress, despite the fact that more efforts are still needed. He has then expected more partners, civil society actors, communities and Government coordinated actions in order to improve PMTCT and children/adolescents HIV pediatric health care within the UNAIDS 90-90-90 vision.

Cameroonian health system components, among them FIS staff was part of the three days Forum with its PACF Project based on Community Discussions for PMTCT and that shows several best practices. At the end of the Forum, the main recommendation is to look for HIV+ children and put them under ARV treatment. B+ Option is already on the way, the search for HIV+ children is now one of the big challenges.
