Cameroon TB/HIV Concept Note first draft available

Cameroon is moving gradually towards the submission of its TB/HIV request of funding for the 2018-2020 term period to Global Fund on August 28. This follows a workshop on the writing of the Joint Concept Note first Draft organized from 04 to 07 July 2017 in Kribi (South Cameroon). For four days, stakeholders (Government, Local Associations, Private Sector, International Organizations etc.) worked on consolidating the document in line with the national strategic plan of the National Committee for the Fight against AIDS.

Under the leadership of two international consultants, the workshop mainly consisted of working groups, with a total of six groups. Experts were asked to contribute with their experiences on the following strategic areas: Monitoring and care of PLHIV, Revitalization of the sectoral response of Committees, Governance, Quality of life, Prevention of mother-to-child transmission, Stock management/supply etc. Strategic areas for which they were also supposed to suggest activities and assumptions. Group work also evaluated themselves under the supervision of the consultants. This was followed by the restitution phase.

The next steps are now to consolidate the original document and return it to Global Fund for initial review, followed by their observations and points to correct. But already it was a first satisfaction that emerged on the face of some participants, to have been at the origin of the drafting of the request for funding sent to Global Fund in order to help victims of HIV and Tuberculosis.
