Two FIS’s Ambassadors at the 19th ICASA


There are news that enhance the prestige of an Organization and attest to the human potential and capacity building dear to civil society in their daily challenges to vulnerable groups. Two members of FIS Cameroon Staff, Michele BONKOUN, in charge of Community Mobilization and Benoit BISSOHONG, Communication and Advocacy Officer, have just been selected to present their Posters during the 19th edition of the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa. A scientific upcoming event which will take place from 04 - 09 December 2017 in Abidjan in Ivory Coast.

Everything started with a call for a selection of Abstract launched by the Pan-African Institution, which rewards good practices in the fight against HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). A Call for selection towards African scientists and civil society actors notably.

Hundreds of candidates have been registered and among the final selected one are the two FIS’s Ambassadors. Michele’s abstract was focused on the increasing of PMCT results at the Lolodorf Health District, funded by PACF and Benoit’s abstract entitled ¨Community Observatory¨ is financed by GIZ Backup.

As you can imagine inside of the structure, it was of course a satisfaction and a great joy, as underlined Bertrand KAMPOER, Executive Director while receiving the news from the ICASA secretariat. Indeed, all modalities are already advanced to allow these two staff to effectively represent the Organization in Ivory Coast, in this major event.
